The Calhoun Curling and Cricket Club began in 1987 by 13 early “baby boomer” generation adults. A desire for us to name ourselves something “different” had led to what we call ourselves, the Calhoun Curling & Cricket Club.
Curling and cricket being popular sporting activities (not so much in the US) combined with Calhoun, a popular local name, seemed to provide the catchy phrase that we were looking for. Incidentally, none of us ever participated in curling events or played cricket.

We became incorporated in 1988 and became known as Calhoun Curling & Cricket Club, Inc. The Calhoun Curling and Cricket Club is not a membership club and there is nothing to join to become involved.

Our mission was to provide low cost entertainment for our friends, and their friends, and so on. We began a network of sophisticated adults looking for a night out other than the typical bar scene. This had developed into a large
private mailing list and network marketing that has led to our successful events, numbering up to 800 in attendance.

Our efforts are solely to promote upscale dances at the best of Twin Cities venues and to provide the best of Twin Cities entertainment. Admission prices to these events are determined by our costs and are not intended for profit.

These events are currently managed by our directors:

Bo is a people mover, enjoys indoor activities especially in the Metrodome and bars.
Clint is retired and an avid alpine skiier.
Dennis is a residential Technology Systems Contractor and enjoys flying and motorcycling.
Ken is a Commercial Designer/Contractor and loves fishing with his cat from his northwoods cabin.
Tom is a retired psychologist and enjoys hunting, fishing, and golf.
